Hi, I’m Aela!
I’ve spent 5 Winters photographing the Wildlife in Yellowstone - Wolves mid-howl, Bison dusted in snow, Coyotes mousing in the meadows. I built my photography community around one idea: you learn best when you feel safe enough to ask questions, experiment, make mistakes, and create without judgment. That’s exactly the space I’m bringing to this free class.

Susan hadn’t been to Yellowstone since she was a kid. She wanted to experience this iconic landscape as an adult, camera in hand. That was Winter 2023. She was hooked and she’s been back for every trip since. The ethics, the small like-minded group, and the real-time learning make these the kinds of experiences that leave her rested and recharged, not drained.

Keri arrived nervous to take her camera off auto. Settings felt overwhelming, especially in the field where everything changes quickly. But she felt safe and supported, so she started asking questions, experimenting, letting herself play. By the end of the trip, she was more confident in her settings, able to be more present in each moment, and maybe just a little obsessed with Yellowstone (honestly, same).

Amber came for the adventure. She told herself, “if I come home with even one image I love, that’ll be enough.” She came home with memory cards full of images she couldn’t believe she’d taken; images that changed how she saw herself - not just as someone who loves Wildlife, but someone who’s proud of what she’s learned and created.

Not at all - this class is built for a mix of beginner and intermediate photographers. If you own a camera and you’re curious about Winter Wildlife photography, you’re in the right place.

I’ll spend 99% of the class teaching - no fluff, just real stuff you can actually use. Near the end, I’ll briefly mention a small-group Yellowstone trip I run each Winter, in case that’s something you’re interested in. But there’s zero pressure, zero obligation to hear about it.
